A young European student visiting a gallery in Brazil is captivated by a painting depicting a worker whose facial expressions convey the exhaustion and fatigue of building streets in the heat of South America. I used my last traveller's checks to buy this painting. To this day, I enjoy my first piece of art.

My first art acquisition and my friendship with a fellow student who has become an internationally exhibited painter are the foundation on which I found my passion.
